John Dennis “Denny” Stephan, 78 of Canal Fulton, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Born January 16, 1946 to the late Vincent and Margaret (Simmons) Stephan, Denny graduated from Northwest High School Class of ’64 and served in the National Guard. Denny worked many years in the hardware business at Kunkle Hardware and later as the owner of Manchester Hardware. After retiring, he worked for several years at Chippewa Golf Course. Denny loved to golf and take yearly vacations to the beach. He also enjoyed gardening, mowing grass and watching old westerns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joel Stephan, and his in-laws, John and Virginia Kunkle. Denny is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kay (Kunkle) Stephan; sons, Sean (Beth) and Scott (Karen) Stephan; grandchildren, Brock (Sydney), Casey, Katie and Brooke Stephan; brothers, Mark and Norman Stephan; numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held MONDAY, April 1, 2024, 1pm to 3pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Funeral Service to follow on Monday, 3:30pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7595 Middle St., Clinton.
